Online Purchase Security
How secure is it to order online?
For your peace of mind when buying online, we encrypt your personal details and use secure servers for your payment. This means any information you provide to us remains private as it travels over the internet. We use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology with 128-bit encryption. Just look out for the padlock at the bottom of your screen (or Top right/left on Mac) on the Payment Details page. This indicates a secure area and you can complete your credit/debit card details with confidence.
What credit and debit cards do you accept?
We accept Visa Credit, MasterCard, Visa Debit/Delta, Switch/Maestro and Solo, Visa Electron and American Express. Additionally we accept payments made through PayPal, PayPal Express and PayPal Standard.
Who processes my credit/debit card information when I make a payment?
Your credit/debit card payment will be processed by our partners at Barclays, using their extremely secure ePDQ payment system
What additional security precautions do you have in place?
If using PayPal, all of your payment details are managed by them. Owen Brothers Metering UK Ltd does not store any of your PayPal details. For direct Credit/Debit card payments and for additional protection, we ask for the security code on your card at the point of payment. This unique three-digit number is physically printed onto your card. It is not embossed onto your card and is not shown on your card receipt or your statement. This means you must have the card in your possession in order to use it. As a result, it is difficult for anyone other than the cardholder to make a purchase. We require that you enter this code as an additional security precaution to better protect against card fraud.
Acceptance of orders
Working with industry-leading secure payment processors, we validate your order and the payment details you submit to us before your order can be accepted. Once that has been done, we will acknowledge that your order has been received by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address you provide in your registration form.
Your order is then subject to further validation checks we may choose to make. If your order passes our validation checks we will send you an order confirmation email, this is our acceptance of your order and it brings into existence a legally binding agreement between us.
Owen Brothers reserves the right to restrict the number of items available for sale to any individual customer. All orders are subject to availability. If any items are not available and you paid using a debit/credit card or PayPal you will not be charged for the cancelled items. If you paid using cheque, postal order or bank transfer you will be given a refund for the amount paid for the items.
We accept payment by most major credit or debit cards and PayPal. Payment will be debited from your account before the dispatch of your purchase. We also accept cheque, postal order, cash or bank transfer.
Trademarks
All brand names, product and service names and titles and copyrights used in this site are trademarks, trade names, service marks or copyrights of their respective holders. No permission is given by Owen Brothers Metering UK Ltd for their use by any person other than the said holders and such use may constitute an infringement of the holders' rights.

All designs, text, graphics and their selection and arrangement on this website are the copyright of Owen Brothers Metering UK Ltd or its content providers. Permission is granted to users to electronically copy or print portions of this site for their own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use of materials on this site without Owen Brothers Metering UK Ltd prior written consent is strictly prohibited.
Delivery information
Delivery will be made to the address specified by you on the completed order form. Delivery is by courier, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. We are able to arrange a Saturday morning delivery for a charge of £25.00. To ensure you receive your order safely, please give a daytime address where someone can sign for delivery. If no-one can sign for your delivery, you can give us a *safe place where we can leave your order - but we strongly recommend that all orders are sent to a delivery address where there will be someone to sign for the parcel (see below). If your parcel is returned, we will have to charge (usually £10.00) to resend.
All orders £100 or over must be signed for and cannot be left in a safe place, please provide full address details. If you request that we leave your parcel in a safe place because there won't be anybody available to sign for, please be aware that this will be done on the understanding that it is at your own risk.
Neither Owen Brothers Meter nor its carrier will be liable for non-receipt of the goods. We will deliver to the address as you have entered it on the order. We cannot accept any liability for late or failed delivery if the quoted address is incorrect or incomplete. Please check the delivery address if you are uncertain. If you request a delivery to a business, we shall consider the delivery to be successful, if it is delivered to a reception area and signed for by a representative at that address.
Delivery can take up to 14 days from the date we receive your order, although every effort will be made to despatch orders on the same day for next day delivery. All parcels are sent by insured carrier and must be signed for. Do not accept damaged goods. If goods fail to arrive after 14 days, please notify us on 0161 624 6211 (Mon-Fri 9am-4.30pm).
If you would like your delivery on a certain date please let us know when you place your order and we will do our best to achieve it.
We do our best to secure delivery within 14 days of the date of your order, but shall not be liable for loss occasioned by delay in delivery arising out of any cause beyond our control.
Please note that we can offer free deliver to a UK address on orders over £100. Deliveries to non-mainland UK addresses will cost an extra £10.00.
Delivery to the Channel Islands
Channel Islands members will be charged VAT at current rate for all transactions, but will receive a discretionary discount from OBM. Customers are responsible for any/all duty charges which may apply for goods dispatched to the Channel Islands*A Safe Place to Leave Your Parcel
Prices
The prices payable for the products that you order are clearly set out in the website. If, by mistake, we have under-priced an item, we will not be liable to supply that item to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we dispatch the item concerned. All prices are expressed excluding VAT unless otherwise stated. The price of the items in most cases do not include the delivery charge.
Availability
All Owen Brother’s products and services are subject to availability.
Acceptance
As all products and services are subject to availability, there will be no contract of any kind between you and us unless and until we actually process and dispatch the goods to you. As stated above (under Availability) your order is an offer to buy from us. This means that nothing that we do or say amounts to any acceptance of that offer until we actually process and dispatch the goods to you. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that the goods are processed and dispatched, and not before, a contract will be made between you and us and you will be charged for the goods.
Returns
We hope you will be happy with your purchase. However, should you feel it necessary to return an item, we aim to make the returns process as simple as possible. To arrange this, please contact us on 0161 624 6211 (Mon-Fri 9am-4.30pm). Please note Owen Brothers Metering UK Ltd cannot replace any metering equipment that has residual readings as these devices cannot be reset to zero. We must be notified of damaged goods within 2 days of delivery. Beyond this, our insurance is invalid. Returns are accepted for unused items in the original packaging within 30 days of the invoice date. We do not accept returns from 3rd party distributors.
Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items.
